Martin and I went out for dinner (Italian) and a movie (Sherlock Holms). Both the restaurant and cinema are just a 10 minute walk away, so we left the car at home and strolled over. It was cold, but that did not matter.
Over the second glass of wine I shared with Martin my feelings of extreme low mood of being on the ‘scrap’ (not the one I would rather) heap as a result of still being out of work and not having any money.
He smiled at me and said “don’t worry this is just a blip on the radar, you will be going back to work soon enough, so until then enjoy the free time you have”, “go out and have coffee with Kelsey, get the house how you want it, invite your Mum and Nan over for lunch” “enjoy being an important part of our grandchildren’s lives”, “enjoy your hobbies!!!!, because believe me when you are working, and you dont have much free time, you will look back at this time and think, why did I not do my own thing more!!!”
So for that Martin ‘I thank you’, for putting things into perspective and more importantly, loving and supporting me.
So all in all it was a lovely evening.
